Part 1 ~ Final Afternoon in Bali
After nine days of sun, sea and relaxations in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, it was finally time to head home to Singapore. On Friday (24 June), we woke at around 10 o' clock to pack up all of our remaining baggage for the flight back to Singapore that night.
Our itinerary for the journey back home to Singapore would be to fly with Qatar Airways on flight QR 639 bound for Doha and Singapore, which would depart Ngurah Rai International Airport at 10.40 p.m.. We would then arrive in Singapore Changi Airport at 1.10 a.m..
We had breakfast and called for a buggy to come to our villa to pick us up, and to help us with our baggage. Here are some pictures taken before we left.

At around 11.50 a.m., a hotel staff came in a buggy to help us with our baggage. They were all put at the front seat of the buggy, while we all sat the back. We then left Villa No. 45 behind and headed to the resort reception via the buggy. Here are some pictures and a video.
As soon as we arrived at the resort lobby, we went to the check-in reception counter to check out and return our villa key. We then waited for our faithful Balinese butler and guide, To Day to pick us up. Here are some pictures I took while waiting.
After a few moments of waiting, To Day arrived at the Sentosa Private Villas & Spa Bali to pick us up, and load up our baggage. He then asked us where we planned to eat for lunch. We then told him anywhere. We hopped on to his cab and he drove us to a cafeteria that was called Flapjaks, which was known for its home-made pancakes.
As soon as we arrived at Flapjaks Cafeteria at 12.25 p.m., To Day parked his cab and we all alighted. We were allowed to leave our belongings in his cab. Here are some pictures I took while having lunch at Flapjaks.
After paying our bill, we met To Day outside the cafe, where he asked us where we wanted to go to for the rest of the afternoon. We then told him that we wanted to visit the reptile park again to see the feeding of the snakes.
As I heard from one of the reptile park's staff members, the snakes are usually fed each Friday. I managed to take a picture of a rice paddy field along the way.

After spending some time at the reptile park, we met up with today outside the entrance to the reptile park. He then ferried us to Discovery Shopping Mall to do some shopping and have some tea. I managed to take some pictures while there.
Part 2 ~ The Flight Back Home to Singapore
After spending some hours of shopping in Discovery Shopping Mall Bali, we knew that it was time to head to Ngurah Rai International Airport for our flight back to Singapore. To Day then met us outside the entrance to Discovery Shopping Mall by his cab and ushered us in. By 6.45 p.m., we were on our way to Ngurah Rai International Airport.
The drive from Discovery Shopping Mall Bali to Ngurah Rai International Airport took about 20 minutes, and we were outside the International Departure Terminal by 7.05 p.m.. To Day then helped us with our baggage on to the airport trolleys. Before we left, we told To Day that during our stay in Bali, it was a pleasure to have him as our butler and guide. My brother and I posed for a picture with To Day, and we all had a friendship hug before heading into the terminal building to check in for our flight back to Singapore.

The seatbelt sign was illuminated at 12.40 a.m., 10 minutes before landing into Singapore Changi Airport. Knowing that we were about to arrive in our homeland very soon, we packed up all our carry-on baggage and buckled for the landing into Singapore. After a short flight time of 2 hours 05 minutes from the Indonesian resort island of Bali, we finally touched down in Singapore Changi Airport at 12.50 a.m., 20 minutes ahead of schedule.

Part 2 ~ The Flight Back Home to Singapore
After spending some hours of shopping in Discovery Shopping Mall Bali, we knew that it was time to head to Ngurah Rai International Airport for our flight back to Singapore. To Day then met us outside the entrance to Discovery Shopping Mall by his cab and ushered us in. By 6.45 p.m., we were on our way to Ngurah Rai International Airport.

After unloading all our baggage from To Day's van, we went into the International Terminal departure building towards the Qatar Airways check-in counters. There, at the Business Class check-in counter, we checked in for Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Singapore and Doha. The flight would have a short layover in Singapore before continuing on its overnight flight back to Doha, Qatar's capital city.
We then went to the Qatar Airways Business Class check-in counter to check in for Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Singapore and Doha. Here are some pictures I took before and during check-in.

After checking in all of our bulky baggage on Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Doha via Singapore, we went to the passport control point. According to the check-in agent, Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Singapore and Doha would depart from Gate No. 7 and that boarding will commence at 9.50 p.m., 50 minutes before the scheduled departure time. We then headed to the Prada Executive Lounge to charge our electronic devices before our flight back to Singapore.

After charging all of our electronic devices in the Prada Executive Lounge, we realised that it was already 9.30 p.m., according to our watches. Knowing that boarding for Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Singapore and Doha would commence in 20 minutes' time, we packed up all of our carry-on baggage, and headed to Gate No. 7. The security check was relatively quick and we were in the waiting room by 9.40 p.m..
Tonight, Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Doha via Singapore would be operated using a Boeing 777-200/LR, registered A7-BBE and powered by two General Electric GE90-110B1L engines. A7-BBE was delivered new to Qatar Airways on 22 December 2009, as the fifth Boeing 777-200/LR for the airline, which makes the aircraft approximately 1.5 years old today.
The Boeing 777-200/LR is the longest-range commercial airliner in the world. This record was held by the Airbus A340-500 prior to its introduction in 2006. The direct competitor from Airbus for the Boeing 777-200/LR is still the Airbus A340-500.
The Boeing 777-200/LR is mainly powered by a choice of two General Electric GE90-110B1 engines, or two General Electric GE90-115B1 engines (same as the Boeing 777-300/ER). After spending approximately 10 minutes of waiting in the gate holding area, the first boarding calls for Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Doha via Singapore were finally made at 9.50 p.m.. The Business Class passengers, as well as the Qatar Airways Privelege Club members and the passengers requiring special assistance were called to board the aircraft first.
With the first boarding calls being made, we grabbed our belongings and rolled up for the boarding process. Upon walking along the jet bridge, we were finally on board A7-BBE by 10.00 p.m., which was just in good time for a 10.40 p.m. departure. At the front door, two flight attendants warmly welcomed us on board and showed us the direction to our seats in the Business Class cabin.
We would be seated in Seats No. 7A, 7B, 7E and 7F for the regional journey time of 2 hours 30 minutes towards Singapore. As usual, the flight attendants did their usual pre-flight routines of distributing the food and beverage menus, free newspapers and pre-departure beverages to the Business Class passengers. After all the passengers for Qatar Airways flight QR 639 bound for Doha via Singapore were on board, we finally pushed back from Gate No. 7 at 10.30 p.m., 10 minutes ahead of schedule. The safety briefing demonstration video was shown on our screens at the same time. We then made our taxi to the sole runway of Ngurah Rai International Airport for take-off.
After approximately 15 minutes of taxiing to the sole airport runway, the two powerful General Electric GE90-110B1L engines spooled to life, and we finally lifted off off from Ngurah Rai International Airport at 10.45 p.m.. We then climbed into the pitch black night sky, heading for short 2 hours 05 minutes towards the Republic of Singapore.

Qatar Airways Flight 639 - Take-off from Denpasar-Bali
The seatbelt sign was turned off at 10.55 p.m., approximately 10 minutes into the flight. After posing for some pictures, I went around to take my usual cabin pictures. At the same time, the flight attendants sprung into action to commence the in-flight service.
A few moments later, a flight attendant came up to my seat, and asked what I wanted for the light supper between Denpasar (Bali) and Singapore. Not in the mood for any more Indonesian food, I opted for the spaghetti with spicy prawns in aioli sauce, sautéed red and green peppers, and fresh button mushrooms. I also requested for some orange juice and water at the same time.
Soon, a plate of mixed warm nuts and my drinks were brought to my seat. The flight attendant then brought out my desired supper. I then tucked in. The spaghetti tasted decent enough for my liking. Once I had finished my supper, my meal tray was promptly cleared and I went around to take more of my usual cabin shots.

Qatar Airways Flight 639 - Landing in Singapore
After five minutes of taxiing on the airport tarmac, we finally docked on to our Terminal 3 arrival gate, Gate No. B9, at 12.55 a.m.. As we were the Singapore passengers, this was the end of our journey. The passengers who were continuing on to Doha were permitted to either disembark or stay on the aircraft during the layover.
As with my previous blog reports, the airline grading systems are as follows:
A+: 85% or above (Airline has an excellent rating and performance)
A: 75% ~ 84% (Airline has a good rating and performance)
B: 60% ~ 74% (Airline has a good rating and performance)
C: 50% ~ 59% (Airline has an adequate rating and performance)
D: 40% ~ 49% (Airline has a fair rating and performance)
E: 20% ~ 39% (Airline has a poor rating and performance)
U: Below 20% (Airline has not met the requirement for the minimum grade)

Overall, Qatar Airways scored 82% between Denpasar (Bali) and Singapore. This means they deserve an 'A' grade. It was indeed another good flight with them. As with its motto 'World's 5-star airline', the airline did live up to it, again. Between Singapore and Denpasar, I think I'll fly with Qatar Airways again if I get the chance.
As soon as the seatbelt signs were turned off, we collected all of our carry-on baggage and disembarked the aircraft. The flight attendants bade us farewell as we disembarked and headed for the immigrations area.

After clearing the immigration area, my mum went to purchase some duty-free items in the arrival area. I then picked some trolleys and followed my dad and brother to Belt No. 46 to claim our check-in baggage before heading into the arrival hall to arrange for a cab back to our home.

As soon as we reached the arrival hall, we went to the MaxiCab counter to arrange for a taxi to our home. We were back at home by 2 o' clock in the morning. As we were very tired from traveling, we went to bed after unpacking our baggage.
In summary, it was a good trip to Denpasar (Bali), but I feel that it would be better to go to Bali in March, where it is not so crowded. Unfortunately, something happened to me the next day. The next day, I took my temperature and realised that I didn't feel well with a high fever. I also suffered from the runs at the same time, leading to me having Bali Belly. As a result, I could not attend school for nearly one week. Because of all this, I think that it would be better if I don't travel to Bali in June as pollution can be relatively prevalent.
