Mini-Shopping Holiday in Bangkok in March 2013 (Enhanced Version) ~ Section 2

Welcome to the second segment of my second edition of my short mini-shopping vacation in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2013. There will be a total of two main focus topics that will be covered up in this segment of the report. They will mainly be our downtown shopping at Siam Paragon, CentralWorld, MBK Center, and travelling along the rough-riding segway tour near the Royal Grounds and Chao Phraya River.

Part 1 ~ Downtown Shopping Around Siam Paragon, CentralWorld & MBK Center

The next morning, which was Saturday (16 March), I woke up at around 9.30 a.m. after I had a well-earned good night's rest the previous night. Rising out of bed, I had a nice, hot shower and changed into my attire for the day prior to doing anything else on my laptop. Just about 1 hour 15 minutes later, all of us were finally awake by 10.45 a.m.. Since this was our first day in Bangkok, we decided to go shopping downtown first.

With that, we prepared all of our necessary belongings for the day and took the elevator down to the main hotel lobby, eventually arriving there by noon. Our first shopping destination of the day would be Siam Paragon to have lunch first. To access Siam Paragon, we decided to take the BTS Skytrain to Siam BTS Station from National Stadium BTS Station, which was located just nearby. We then left the LIT Hotel Bangkok at 12.05 p.m., with the entire walk to National Stadium BTS Station taking no more than just ten minutes.

The Bangkok Skytrain (BTS Skytrain) (Thai: รถไฟฟ้าบีทีเอส) is an elevated rapid transit system operating in Bangkok, Thailand. Opened on 5 December 1999, it is operated by Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC). The BTS Skytrain system consists of two lines, the Silom Line and Sukhumvit Line, with the two lines connecting each other at Siam BTS Station via a cross-platform interchange.

After a short walk of just 10 minutes from the LIT Hotel Bangkok, we finally arrived at the main entrance towards National Stadium BTS Station at 12.15 p.m.. Entering the station concourse, we headed over towards a nearby ticketing machine to purchase our BTS Skytrain tickets for the short hop towards Siam BTS Station, which would be the closest station connecting Siam Paragon.

National Stadium BTS Station (Thai: สถานีสนามกีฬาแห่งชาติ) is a BTS Skytrain station located in the Pathum Wan District, Bangkok, Thailand. The station is located in Rama I Road and serves as the western terminus for the BTS Silom Line. The station is directly connected towards MBK Center via a pedestrian footbridge and provides easy access to the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, National Stadium, Siam Discovery Center and Siam Square.

Siam Paragon (Thai: สยามพารากอน) is a large luxury shopping mall located in Rama I Road, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok, Thailand. Opened on 9 December 2005, it is one of the largest shopping malls in Southeast Asia and is owned by The Mall Group and Siam Piwat. The mall houses a large number of specialty stores and restaurants, and a multiplex movie theatre. The mall is also known for housing Siam Ocean World, Southeast Asia's largest public aquarium.
